Trudge the Road

No matter how small the wins and they may not seem like big things. THEY ARE!

14 months ago, everything I owned was in a canvass duffel bag. I carried it everywhere, this was my world and I  had to protect it. Yes I was homeless.

Fast forward to today. I was gifted 6 more Hawaiian shirts bringing my total to 47. It was so awesome that I didn't have to throw out 1 shirt to make the newer one fit in the duffel bag.

I have a closet that holds them. I go to bed at night with the lights on, closet doors wide open. I look at them and think how far I have progressed. Shirts don't seem like much to most people, but to me they show growth.

BTW the first Hawaiian shirt I received was from The Auburn Food Bank. I wore it there where I volunteered. Clients loved it. Somehow it just snowballed. 47 shirts that this poor man couldn't afford. I have never paid for one, yet would pay thousands for the comfort for which they bring.

It is amazing that a smile and taking the time to listen to someone, can make all the difference in a life.
