School Food Drive

The Auburn School District is a big supporter of The Auburn Food Bank - Each and every school participates in a district wide food drive! 2010 - 56,000 pounds and $15,000 was donated! Schools compete internally for the classroom to bring in the most items -- and against each other for the most pounds per student brought in. Winners for 2010 are: Mt View High School for the 5th straight year; Olympic Middle School for the third straight year; and Hazelwood Elementary for the 4th time. THANK YOU, Students, Teachers and Administration!

Awesome Volunteers

You make us successful! Thank you!

Sweet 16 - Sharing their good fortune with TAFB - food and toy drive!

Meghan, Kayla and Ryan --- decided they had all they needed -- great families, lots of love and great friends --- They threw their own Sweet 16 Birthday Party -- invited all their friends to bring toys for the holiday toy give-away and food for the food bank! Four hundred pounds of food and about 200 toy items were donated! Way to "pay it forward!"

In Loving Memory

Joyce Triplett --- Long time Board Member and strong supporter -- She kept us grounded! Her "lions heart" gave beyone measure...She is missed....

BackPacks

I had barely taken on this job of Executive Director of The Auburn Food Bank when Bill Kyle came to pitch an idea: "Have you heard of the back pack program" he asked as he pulled out a newspaper article from Tarrant County, Texas -- to this day I have no idea where he got that newspaper.

But what I do know - is that Bill's heart started to spill out all over my desk.....kids were going hungry and Bill was determined to not let that happen in Auburn......

Staff

No one can do it alone.....
